I expected something a bit more light-hearted from the story and was disappointed that there were rape, torture, etc. in this book. Had I known that before, then I wouldn't have bought the book.
It seems that right now too many books (at least for my taste) from the UF genre seem to include lots of rape, torture, etc.. I often don't like the careless way these serious things are dealt with.
The mythological background of the story was also not that fascinating so in the end I was disappointed by the book. But I'm sure that readers who like the way most UF books are written will enjoy "Dark Descendant".
