This is Kinsella's first YA book, she tried to handle a serious topic in a funny way which didn't work for me perfectly. The narrator of the story was good, however I had some issues with the story overall and especially some of the characters. There were too many stereotypical characters in the book, I never forgot that they were just characters and for once I would have preferred the story to be free of a romance.
I think in the future I will stick to Kinsella's adult books even though I have to say that they haven't been that great for me in the last two years. But I will continue to give her adult books a chance, and should she decide to change her YA books to light-hearted topics, then I might give them a try as well.
