This is the second book in a row by Ilona Andrews that I didn't enjoy as much as I expected. This is the second book in a row that gave me not enough time with the characters and instead too many actions scenes I didn't care about.
I don't know what happened, but my fascination with the Kate Daniels world has gotten less while reading the last two books. I feel as if Kate and the others have slightly changed and not in a way that I like. I feel as if there is more concentration on the action than on the characters and love stories. And I don't like that. Another problem was that I don't really care about Andrea and never have. She never interested me that much as a characters and this book hasn't changed that. So of course her story didn't fascinate me that much and at times she annoyed me a bit.
Btw, I had the issues I described above both with both Gunmetal Magic and the novella that was in the back of the book.
I plan to go on with the next book in the series, but I will not be as excited about it as I was before.
